12 Ugandans Admit to Abducting, Killing and Eating Children in Kenya

Twelve members of Uganda’s Wagisu community have confessed to abducting, murdering, and cannibalising at least eight schoolchildren in Kenya’s West Pokot County, sparking horror and outrage.

The suspects, who were arrested after a public raid on their village in Kapenguria, admitted to slaughtering the children, then roasting or boiling their flesh before consuming it. The gruesome discovery came after locals, acting on intelligence reports, stormed the village following the mysterious disappearance of several young pupils.

Children’s Uniforms Found in Suspects’ Possession

During the raid, a large number of school uniforms—belonging to both the missing children and other unidentified victims—were found in the suspects’ homes. The chilling find confirmed fears that the children had been targeted and killed.

Authorities say the suspects are part of the Wagisu, a Ugandan ethnic group also present in Kenya. Little is known about their cultural practices, but the confessions have raised disturbing questions about ritualistic or cannibalistic traditions.

“They Enjoy Eating People” – Locals Speak

One resident, who asked to remain anonymous, told reporters: “These people have been living among us, but we never suspected this. They enjoy eating people.”

Police are investigating whether more victims are involved, as the number of missing children in the area has been rising over recent months.

Cannibalism in East Africa: A Rare but Shocking Crime

While cannibalism is extremely rare in modern East Africa, isolated cases linked to witchcraft or ritual killings have been reported in the past. In 2017, a man in Tanzania was arrested for killing and eating his neighbour, claiming it was for “strength.”

The Wagisu case, however, appears more organised, with multiple suspects involved in the abductions and killings. Kenyan authorities are working with Ugandan officials to determine if similar crimes have occurred elsewhere.

Public Outrage and Calls for Justice

The revelations have triggered fury in West Pokot, with residents demanding swift justice.

“These monsters must hang,” said one grieving parent. “How could they prey on innocent children?”

Police have assured the public that the suspects will face the full force of the law. Investigations continue as forensic teams search for more evidence.
