The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued a stern warning to the public over the increasing number of fraudulent online platforms claiming to offer KCSE grade alterations and leaked exam papers.
In a recent advisory, KNEC flagged a Telegram channel titled “KCSE B+ Guarantee & KPSEA 2024” and an X (formerly Twitter) account named “KCSE 2024 EXAM” as fake. Both platforms have been exposed for misleading students and parents with false promises of guaranteed exam results and unauthorized access to KNEC systems.
Fraudulent Platforms Exposed
- Telegram Scam Channel: The account claims to have access to the KNEC portal and offers illegal grade-changing services. KNEC has labeled it a SCAM and urged users to avoid any engagement with such platforms.
- Fake Social Media Account: An X account posing as an official KCSE examination platform has been marked as FAKE. It was discovered to be spreading misinformation and exploiting unsuspecting users.
KNEC’s Official Advisory
KNEC has reiterated that all official updates and information are communicated through verified platforms, including the official website www.knec.ac.ke and the council’s certified social media accounts.
The council urged parents, students, and stakeholders to exercise caution and report any suspicious accounts or activities.

How to Identify Fake Accounts:
- Always check for official verification marks on social media accounts.
- Avoid platforms promising guaranteed exam results or grade alterations.
- Cross-check all information on the KNEC website.
