The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has introduced a new requirement for its examiners ahead of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) marking exercise. Examiners are now required to upload their Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) pin certificates onto their online profiles to comply with the latest guidelines.
Examiners who have already been selected for specific papers, as indicated on their KNEC portal profiles, are urged to act swiftly. The KRA pin certificate is now a mandatory part of the registration process, aimed at ensuring that all examiners are tax compliant in line with national tax regulations.
For those who have been shortlisted for examiner training, KNEC has provided a payment portal for training fees on the same online platform. Shortlisted individuals are expected to complete their payments for examiner training promptly to secure their slots.
The move reflects KNEC’s commitment to ensuring the professionalism and accountability of examiners, especially during the high-stakes KCSE exams. Examiners are encouraged to keep their profiles up to date and follow the outlined instructions closely. Failure to adhere to these requirements might result in delays or exclusion from the examiner deployment process.
Examiners can log in to their KNEC examiner portal at https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke to review their deployment status and complete the necessary steps.
This latest update comes as part of KNEC’s continuous efforts to improve the efficiency and transparency of the national examination process.
