KCSE Drama in Siaya: Maths Teacher on the Run After Leaking Exam Paper at Rachar Mixed

Tension gripped Rachar Mixed Secondary School in Siaya County after a shocking incident involving an alleged KCSE exam paper leak sent panic waves to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) headquarters.

According to preliminary reports, a signal was transmitted to KNEC HQ indicating that a photo of a KCSE examination paper had been taken and circulated from the school’s exam center. The alert prompted an immediate response from security officers and KNEC monitoring teams, who swiftly descended on the institution to verify the claim.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered that a Mathematics teacher identified as Dennis Okinyi had allegedly taken photos of the paper, tackling questions 17 and 21 before making several photocopies using a printer reportedly located inside the teachers’ quarters.

However, the suspect managed to escape moments before the security personnel arrived, raising questions about how he learned of the impending raid.

In the ensuing crackdown, the Centre Manager was arrested, and all examination officials at the school were replaced as investigations continued.

The KNEC and the Ministry of Education have reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on exam malpractice, warning that any teacher, student, or official found culpable will face severe legal consequences.
