The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued a final 7-day ultimatum to all Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates to submit their applications for placement into Degree and TVET programmes. In an urgent announcement made on X (formerly Twitter), KUCCPS reminded applicants that the deadline is fast approaching and emphasized that the last day to apply is Tuesday, April 30, 2025.
According to the official statement, the ongoing placement process targets two categories of candidates:
- 2024 KCSE candidates applying for Degree courses.
- 2000–2024 KCSE candidates seeking placement in TVET and Teacher Training College (TTC) programmes.
The agency urged students not to delay their applications, stating, “Yesterday was the best time to apply; today is the second best time.” This timely reminder serves to avert a last-minute rush and ensure that eligible students take advantage of government-sponsored opportunities in various institutions.
To apply, students must log in to students.kuccps.net using their KCSE Index Numbers and credentials. The platform allows students to revise their choices and select from a wide range of available courses across Kenyan universities, technical institutions, and teacher training colleges.
Failure to apply by April 30 could mean missing out on a government-subsidized slot, pushing students into self-sponsored programmes, which come at a significantly higher cost. KUCCPS has reiterated its commitment to equitable and merit-based placement, encouraging all qualified candidates to act swiftly.
