Court new order on House Levy.

The Court of appeal, seating in Nairobi has ruled in favour of the Gov’t on House Levy.

In a court sheet seen by K47 digital news team, it says the status quo prevails regarding the House Levy.

This implies that payslip Kenyans will continue being deducted to the 1.5% of gross matched by another 1.5% by the employer.

The Court of Appeal is set to give its verdict on January 26th, 2024.

“Upon hearing the parties, all the applications are consolidated as they arise from the same judgment of the High Court dated 28h November, 2023. Civil Application No. E577/2023 is designated as the lead file.” A ruling by Justice Mativo read.

Adding: “The ruling on these consolidated applications will be delivered on 26th January, 2024.

“In the meantime, the status quo obtaining as of today shall be maintained until the delivery of the ruling.”
